Fay and I have known each other since 5th grade when we were students at M.S. 180!  She is an amazing mother to her beautiful daughter, a boss, and is  killing the game with her new blog, Cole Chronicles! *see link above to check it out!*

Tell me about yourself:

Hey, my name is Fay!  I have lived in the Bronx my entire life.  I went to Cardinal Spellman High School like a real Bronx chick!  I have a little princess who is the center of my world.  I recently graduated from graduate school and currently working on a few new projects such as my new blog.  In this chapter of my life, I'm interested in bettering myself and being pro-Fay.  This includes traveling more, expanding my likes and interests, and being the best mother possible.  I'm passionate, loving, and always into having a great time!

What are your fondest memories of growing up in the Bronx?

I didn’t really have any because my mom is a crazy Jamaican who really did not play them type of games however, summers in the Bronx are always lit.  Mr. Softee is always around the corner, someones hydrant is always flowing so you got a water park right up the block, and lets not even start talking about the parks; they're always popping with somebody's barbecues!

Do you feel as though being from the Bronx has heavily influenced who you are today?

Yes, I feel like living in the Bronx, specifically uptown, has heavily influenced who I am. It has not always been the quietest neighborhood and therefore it has kind of toughened me up and prepared me for everything else thats waiting.

Who are your biggest inspirations?

I would have to say my biggest inspirations are Malcolm X, Jesus, Cardi B, Lauryn Hill, Michelle Obama, and my damn self!

What has been your greatest accomplishment to date?

My biggest accomplishment has been my beautiful baby girl, Milan, and being the first amongst my siblings to receive my Master's degree while being birthed from immigrant parents who never went to college.

If you could, in what ways would you give back to your community?

I would love to open up a community center that offers different programs to youth and single mothers.

If someone were visiting the Bronx, where would you tell them to go?

Woodlawn Cemetery because there are so many influential people, specifically African-Americans, who are buried there and City Island cause that's that real Bronx ish!
